The purpose of this standard is to specify a training program that is designed to create a highly disciplined operational capability to rescue firefighter(s) who become lost, injured, trapped, incapacitated, or disoriented at an emergency scene or in the course of a training operation. Students will get lecture and case studies of past incidents, as well as best practices gathered from departments around the country. This class is a physically taxing course, and involves skills sessions designed to teach firefighters how to overcome obstacles they may encounter when rescuing a downed firefighter. Skill Sessions include: - Donning and Doffing Techniques - RIT Pack Orientation -Basic drags and carries -Wall Breach Techniques -Denver/Pittsburg/Nance Drills -Ground ladder throwing techniques -Forcible Entry -Rescue saw operations -Ladder as a high point -Full RIT operations Scenarios This class is for all firefighters who may operate as a RIT company while on a fire scene.
